iResearchPanel

iResearchPanel (iRP) is an online market research site, that provides insight into how it's users interact with the internet. This data is used by the marketers and publishers to better design their products.

iRP uses a small application that can be downloaded from it's website to get a basic understanding of the profile and web surfing behaviour of the users. In return, the users get a chance to participate in a contest and win prizes like gift vouchers, ipods and mobile phones.

The Application

iResearchPanel application is browser plugin that allows us to profile web surfing behaviour. The plugin consumes minimal RAM and storage and does not affect the system performance in any way.

During installation, the application asks few questions which help us determine the profile of the user. The application is designed to send the entire weblog of the user, including the URLs the visitor went to, the time stamp, search terms, the browser used etc. Using the profile data and the web surfing data, iResearchPanel tries to get an estimate about the users for each website.

The application is also designed to notify users about various offers and promotions depending upon their interests, which can be disabled by the user. It can be uninstalled like any other program. A more detailed explanation of uninstalling the program can be found here.

The Contest

The users have to fill the webform on iRP's download page, download the application and then install it to participate in the contest. As soon as the user uninstalls the application, he/she becomes ineligible for the contest. More information on the contest can be found here.

Once the application is running on a user's computer, he/she becomes eligible for the weekly draw that immediately follows the day of download. The monthly download is open for all eligible entries irrespective of the day of download. Apart from these prizes, every 1000th user who downloads the application wins a prize. iResearchPanel may stop or withdraw these contest without prior intimation to the users.

Winner Notifications

The winners are notified using the active application downloaded from www.iResearchPanel.com. If the application is uninstalled, the users will become ineligible for the contest and also will never be able to receive these notifications. The notification shall intimate the user about his winning and shall seek information like email, phone number, address, etc so that iRP representatives can contact the user and provide instructions on how to collect the data.
